What Are We Doing?

snaring in Scotland

The League Against Cruel Sports in Scotland actively campaigns on a number of issues including a ban on the manufacture, sale and use of snares.

  • The League influences Government legislation to improve protection through law for animals to be free from suffering.
  • We respond to Government consultations on all animal welfare issues and give expert evidence at Committees in Holyrood.
  • We lobby members of all political parties on our key campaign messages. You can read our latest Holyrood Public Affairs Briefing.
  • We sit on the Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime (PAWS) and are also members of the Scottish Parliament’s Cross Party Group on Animal Welfare.
  • We expose the cruelty of snaring through investigation. Read or most recent report Blood Still on the Wire.
  • We take an active role in raising awareness and reducing wildlife crime.
