Annual Review

The League Against Cruel Sports is made up of a dedicated and determined team of staff, supported by tens of thousands of like-minded people who are committed to exposing and bringing an end to the cruelty inflicted on animals in the name of 'sport'.

We have proven we are the voice of the majority and not the minority, and supporters can rest assured we will continue to build upon recent efforts to ensure the Hunting Act is secure for future generations.

Here are some of our highlights in the last 12 months:

  • Launched our new Fighting Dogs campaign and hosted a successful conference on this issue in July
  • Achieving a ban of hare coursing in Northern Ireland
  • Keep Cruelty History campaign won the 'Best Media Campaign' award in the Eco Veggie Awards
  • Our Facebook supporters grew from just over 7,000 to over 22,000
  • Our video blog was launched in September
  • Following a League investigation, a huntsman of the Quantock Staghounds in Somerset became the first person to be convicted twice under the Hunting Act.
